Today on Twitter I saw a post from a writer Larry Maguire, who pledged to write and publish a piece of writing every day for 365 days. It inspired me to try something similar, so here we are. I don't know how long I'll last, I don't know how much I'll write, whether it'll be work-based, life-based, serious, funny or something in between, but I'm going to give it a go.
Writing makes me happy, it takes me ages to get started, but once I do I find it's pretty easy. I write best when I'm up against a deadline, so it'll be interesting to see how I get on without an editor's expectations prodding me in the conscience.
Some days ideas just spring out of everywhere - funny things happen, people are wazzocks and animals present themselves for personalisation opportunities. Those days will be easy. But others days? Other days I get home from a stressful day, physically spent and emotionally exhausted, and on those days, all I want to do is curl up on the sofa and watch a box set of something that does the thinking for me. How I'll manage to write on those days is something we'll have to watch and wait for. But I'll give it my best shot.
And it's not as if I haven't got any material to write about, is it? The world is about as mad as it's ever been, so now's the time to use your voice, if you're lucky enough to have one
Come along for the ride if you like, you're very welcome.
